All going smoothly from Otvalo to Quito, picked up my ticket at the travel agency in town, cabbed from town to UIO International and the airport is closed. I go to Informacion and learn that there has beend an accident on "la pista" hmmm...I know that word it means RUNWAY. Holy crap. Video on tv is not pretty and we´re shut down at least until 3pm, my flight was scheduled for 1pm but at least ´we´re safe. Posting this from the int´l terminal and need to get back to domestic so I can keep tabs on progress. Will update from Cuenca whenever I get there.
